LIVING BOLZANO
A city that stands out for its quality of life and harmony of spaces, colours and scents, at all times of the year. An area that holds special surprises in store. Come and discover Bolzano.
The City
One step outside the Stadt Hotel Città and you are immersed in the sparkling beauty of Bolzano. From Piazza Walther, dominated by the statue of the medieval German poet, all you have to do is look around to see the history of the city: in front of you the cathedral and its bell tower show the Gothic style of the city; take via Argentieri, a street with a medieval flavour, lined with some of the most beautiful buildings of the time, and you reach Piazza delle Erbe, where the colours of the freshest fruit and vegetables, symbols of the activities of the Piazza since 1300, await you.
Turn into Via dei Portici, the first street to be built here in the 12th century, and finally take a step back in time: visit Ötzi, the ice man who lived here more than 4,000 years ago and is now perfectly preserved in Bolzano’s Archaeological Museum.

The mountains
It doesn’t take long to reach unforgettable panoramas; just a ride in the cable car to the Renon or Colle plateau and enjoy the view of the Dolomites, which rise majestically from every point of view.
A few kilometres by car are enough to reach them and discover them. You’ll be spoilt for choice: enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Lake Karer / Lago di Carezza, climb up to the mountain huts or walk along the paths of Obereggen and Alpe di Siusi, to name but a few.
Do you prefer snowshoes or hiking boots? Mountain bike or skis?
No need to choose, you can do it all: the mountains of Bolzano can be discovered in a thousand different ways.

Events
In Bolzano, every moment of the year brings with it moments of celebration and opportunities to meet. Such as the Christmas markets, which colour the city’s squares and streets from the end of November to 6 January; the many wine festivals in and around the city, particularly in August; sporting events, such as the Bozen City Trail in mid-October or the Bike night tour in July.
But a trip to Bolzano can also turn into an innovative cultural experience, with contemporary music and art festivals such as Transart and Bolzano Festival Bozen, which brings together events and competitions dedicated to classical music in the summer months.
