Through the ages, Stadt Hotel Città has been watching over Piazza Walther as a witness to the past and guardian of the future of the city reflected in its large windows.

18th century

Taken from the Archdiocese of Trento by Joseph II, the building outlasts empires and institutions, becoming one of the symbols of Bolzano.
1913

Overlooking Piazza Walther, the building is turned into a hotel and a café and immediately becomes part of the city's contemporary face.
1920

After the Great War, the building takes on a new identity and is renamed Hotel Città, a symbol of both transformation and tradition.
World War II

Damaged by bombings, the hotel retains its character and comes to life again in the post-war period as Bolzano's a cultural, musical and theatrical hub.
